What is Upward Basketball?
Upward Basketball is an evangelistic sports ministry designed to promote community outreach, develop volunteer leadership, and share the love of Christ with children and their families, using something as simple as a basketball. Specifically designed for kindergarten through sixth grade boys and girls, Upward promotes salvation, character and self-esteem in every child.
The kids practice throughout the week in our multi-ministry room and games are played on Saturdays.
The purpose of Upward Basketball® is to recognize that Every Child Is A Winner by promoting:
Salvation
To share the love of Jesus Christ with everyone involved in an Upward ministry.
Character
To help every child grow as Jesus did - spiritually, physically, mentally and socially.
Self-Esteem
To help every child grow in their understanding and enjoyment of sports.
If conflict should arise, it will be resolved according to these purpose statements.
Not only do we offer Upward Basketball, but there is Upward Cheerleading. For those girls who aren't interested in playing basketball, there is cheerleading. If you want to do both - you can!
